or how NOT 2 B on time when U have to B there!
Got up this morning after a loooong winters nap, I mean I have just slept for a good lets see................ went to bed at 8:30 and am up at 7:30 so thats what 11 straight hours, whew that was nice I wonder why I feel so foggy tho I should be gresh, is there such a thing as too much sleep? Ok, so anyway Im sure Ill adjust but I live behind Kennedy Airport on the tip of Long Island and my usually mode of transportation is the good old Subway, I love it altho people think Im crazy because they all would rather spend a small fortune to take the Long Island Railroad which I will admit is a lot classier but my stop on the subway is actually right on the block I have to travel to and with the railroad I would have to walk 3 blocks and I long block because the railroad is on 7-8th Ave and I am going up one more avenue, I will also admit that the railroad is a bit faster, my normal trip takes 1hour and 5 minutes whereas the Railroad would normally be in the fifty minute range and I can here people thinking 15 minutes so what, but were talking everyday commutin here thats a half hour every single day if there isnt a delay which happens all too often for me anyway.
Now that you have the full picture I can go on. Whenever it snows a decent amount like it just has recently here on the east coast we catch a real bad break, the train moves along outside tracks here where I am and so of course NO TRAIN! Now there is an alternate for us straphangers and that is to go to your station and they will shuttle you in a bus from your stop to the train in New Yorks Tunnel which starts in Brooklyn, NY. Dont ask me how they do it tho, somewhere the trains would HAVE TO TURN AROUND NO MATTER TUNNEL OR NOT RIGHT?? Think about it, otherwise they would somewhere start running train into the back of the next train and so on but...................?? Ok, so today I just HAD to be in NYCity, no and if's or but's about it, its a banking matter and todays the last day to sign, YES I KNOW I SHOULD HAVE MADE TIME BEFORE BUT WHO EXPECTED SNOW? And to be fair, we have been in frozen mode in the single digits since last week so nobody was going anywhere if they didnt have to. U just prayed that the heat was working and the Cable line was runing was all. I have lived in several other cities from Florida, Ohio, Las Vegas and a few more and I dont remember ONCE, not ONE TIME that the transportation is ever this bad.
Ok, so even if I bite the bullet and take that long bus ride that will stop at every stop between here and Brooklyn after standing outside waiting for the bus in this glorious weather, that bus is going to take no kidding a good hour at BEST just to reach Brooklyn because the roads here are snow covered and so it will be treacherous going for the poor driver. Then the Subway (even tho its in a tunnel and I dont C how it turns around, I guess it will remain a mystery forever) is running late and it was just reported to expect mass chaos or thats what they mean when they say a 10 minute delay, but they DIDNT say a ten minute delay they said a 20 MINUTE DELAY,...............thats so scary there is no translation in the english language to cover it I can only say those kinds of things in italian or slavic!
